Import and Export of Dashboard Configurations

Definition

The Import and Export of Dashboard Configurations feature allows users to easily back up, transfer, or restore existing dashboards configurations across environments.

This functionality enables users to export the current structure, widgets, layouts, and filters of a dashboard as a file. The same file can then be imported to recreate an identical dashboard or share it with other users.

How It Works

1. Open the desired dashboard in the system.
2. Edit the dashboard
3. Select the “Export” (down arrow) option from the tab view to download the current configuration as a file
4. To restore or transfer a dashboard, select “Import” (up arrow) to process the configuration file.
5. After importing, the dashboard will be available again with the exact same settings and layout.

Notes:

• The exported file does not contain user data – only layout and configuration settings.
• During import, existing dashboards can be overwritten or saved as a new version.
• The exported file uses a standardized format and can be used across different instances of the same platform.
