External Content

External Content

The External Content element embeds content from external sources directly inside the Text Assistant using a secure iFrame.

Description

External Content allows you to integrate websites, dashboards, media, or interactive tools directly into the Text Assistant interface. This enables users to consume or interact with content without leaving the platform. All rendering is executed through a secure iFrame to protect the application environment.

Setting Up External Content

  1. Select Templates on the side menu of the Back-office application
  2. Select Template of choice
  3. Select the Modules tab at the header
  4. Select the Assistant module and the Text submodule
  5. Click the + Add Element button to add element of type External Content.
  6. Provide Title name and click next.
  7. Carefully fill-in the required data in the corresponding fields for optimal embedding
  8. Click Save

External Content elements include automatic URL validation. When entering a URL, the Text Assistant checks whether the link is valid, secure, and allowed to be embedded.

Invalid or incomplete URLs are highlighted, ensuring that only functioning and approved links can be used. This improvement increases reliability and prevents issues caused by broken or unsafe external sources.

Note

Without a provided Content URL in the element configuration, the element is flagged with an error message.

Notes

  • The external source must allow iFrame embedding; otherwise, the content may be blocked by the source site.
  • iFrames are loaded in isolation to protect the application from external code execution.
  • Ideal for embedding external documentation, KPI dashboards, media players, forms, and interactive widgets.

Example

An external dashboard can be embedded directly inside the Text Assistant. This allows users to view key performance metrics in real time without navigating away from the editor.
